    As night unfolds, enjoy several September evenings filled with
    nature discovery and more in Cleveland Metroparks at the following
    evening programs:



    Family Friday Night: Insect
    Investigations



    Friday, September 10 � 6:30 -
    7:30  p.m.



    NorthChagrinNatureCenter � North Chagrin Reservation



    Join Naturalist Mindy Murdock for an up-close
    look at the world of insects and spiders. The entire family can
    search for grasshoppers, butterflies, spiders, dragonflies, and
    other 6- or 8-legged critters with nets provided from the nature
    center. NorthChagrinNatureCenter is located off Buttermilk Falls
    Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation,
    off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in MayfieldVillage. For more

    Jackson Field � South Chagrin Reservation



    Enjoy an evening hike with Naturalist Carly
    Martin and discover what inhabits the woods of Jackson Field at
    dusk. Look for critters of all kinds, including snakes! Wear sturdy
    shoes and long pants for this partly off-trail hike. Jackson Field
    is located off Miles Road in South Chagrin Reservation, east of SOM
    Center Road/Route 91 in Bentleyville. For more information, call

    Second Saturday Storytelling



    Saturday, September 11 � 7:30 -

    Rocky RiverNatureCenter � Rocky
    River
    Reservation



    Listen and learn through the ancient art form of
    storytelling. Hear tales of clever insights into how little humans
    have really changed. This program is recommended for adults and
    older children. If you have a story to share, or for more
    information, contact Janelle Reardon at Rocky
    RiverNatureCenter  (440-734-6660). Rocky RiverNatureCenter is
    located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north
    of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.



     



    Hike for your Campfire
    Supper

    p.m.



    Squaw Rock Picnic Area � South Chagrin
    Reservation



    Join naturalists for an evening hike through the riverside and
    forests above Squaw Rock before returning to a dinner around the
    campfire. Everyone is assigned a food item to bring upon
    registration. Registration, by September 9, can be made by calling

    . Squaw Rock Picnic Area

    Reservation



    Join Naturalist Kelly McGinnis to learn about the music of the
    night on a short, half-mile walk through Brecksville Reservation.
    BrecksvilleNatureCenter is located off Chippewa
    Creek Drive in Brecksville Reservation, west of Riverview Road in

    Friday Movie Night: The Deep

    We know more about the surface of the moon than
    the bottom of our oceans. In a film narrated by Naturalist David
    Attenborough, discover the mountain ranges, large-toothed creatures
    and spectacular "smoking chimneys" in the perpetual
    nights of the deep ocean. Popcorn will be provided, and doors open
    at 7:15. NorthChagrinNatureCenter is located off Buttermilk Falls
    Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation,

    Midweek Moonwalk

    As shadows of twilight change the landscape,
    enjoy an easy, two-mile evening walk along a hemlock ravine. If
    skies are clear, an almost full moon will be visible.

    Fall

    Celebrate the official start of fall by taking a
    moonlight walk on the Wildlife Management Trail under the first
    full moon of the season. Terrain includes some stairs and is about
    1.5 miles. Rocky RiverNatureCenter is located at 24000 Valley
    Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in

    Family Friday Night: Welcome Fall
    Hayride



    September 24 � 6:30 - 8 
    p.m.



    Strawberry Picnic Area parking lot � North Chagrin
    Reservation



    Welcome the fall season with a family hayride
    through the reservation. Snacks provided. Registration, from
    September 1 through September 20, is required. Space is limited.
    There is a $2 fee for ages three and older. Ages two and under are
    free. Strawberry Picnic Area is located off Buttermilk Falls
    Parkway, off the Strawberry Lane entrance of North Chagrin
    Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Willoughby Hills. For
