Cleveland Metroparks is offering courses from American Red Cross
this September for babysitter's training and pet first aid.
Gain confidence and skills to become a successful babysitter, as
well as know how to respond to a pet in case of emergency at the
following programs:
American Red Cross Babysitter's Training
Saturday, September 11 � 9 a.m. - 5

Hinckley Reservation
The Red Cross Babysitter Training course is a
good way for young people to build self-esteem and develop
leadership, decision-making and communication skills, as well as
give them a meaningful way to earn money. Used to train and certify
over 120,000 babysitters nationwide each year, the Red Cross
Babysitter Training course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on
activities, role playing, and lively discussions. The course
teaches young people how to care for children and infants, keep the
children they babysit and themselves safe, handle emergencies, be
good leaders and role models, and make good decisions and solve
problems. Registration and a $50 fee per person are required by
September 8. Space is limited. Ledge Pool & Recreation area is
located 1151 Ledge Road in Hinckley Reservation, between State and
Kellogg Roads in HinckleyTownship. For more information and to

American Red Cross Pet First Aid

Pet First Aid course participants will learn how
to protect themselves and their furry friends from harm, injury or
suffering during emergencies by learning prompt, effective first
aid actions and care. Tips on keeping pets healthy are also
provided. Training will be conducted on canine and feline
mannequins to give participants a more realistic experience in
providing care. Registration and a $40 fee (for Dog OR Cat
First Aid Book/DVD) or a $55 fee (for Dog AND Cat First Aid
Books/DVDs) is required by September 22. Space is limited. Park
Operation sAdministration Building is located 4500 Valley Parkway
in Rocky River Reservation, just off Wooster Road in
