    courses in May. Youth and adults interested in becoming
    fully-trained babysitters or lifeguards, can register for the
    following courses:

    course gives youth, ages 11 to 15, the skills and confidence to
    safely and responsibly care for children and infants. Through
    hands-on activities, interactive video and lively discussions, the
    course teaches young people how to supervise children and infants,
    perform basic child-care skills, such as diapering, feeding and
    dressing, choose safe, age-appropriate games and toys, and identify
    safety hazards and prevent injuries. Registration, by May 5, is
    required. Cost is $45 for Ledge Pool season pass holders and $65
    for non-season pass holders. Ledge Pool & Recreation Area is
    located at 1151 Ledge Road, between State and Kellogg Roads in
    Hinckley Township.

    participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond
    to aquatic emergencies, both in a pool and at a waterfront
    environment. The course content and activities prepare participants
    to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies,
    and prevent drowning and injuries. Participants must be age 16 and
    older on or before the last day of the course. Registration, by May
    10, and $175 fee per person are required. Course materials
    included.

    to teach basic-level Lifeguarding, Water Lifeguarding, Waterpark
    Lifeguarding and Shallow Water Attendant (all include first aid),
    Lifeguard Management, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer,
    Administering Emergency Oxygen, Bloodborne Pathogens Training and
    Basic Water Rescue courses. Instructor candidates will become
    familiar with GuardStart: Lifeguarding Tomorrow and the Water
    Safety presentations. Participants must be age 17 and older and
    have a current American Red Cross/First Aid certificate.
    Registration, by May 10, and a fee of $175 per person are required.
