    Discover the beauty of nature at night with Cleveland
    Metroparks.  The following free night programs are offered
    this May:   

     

    Second Saturday Storytelling

    Saturday, May 8 � 7:30 - 9 p.m.

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Enjoy a variety of tales and tellers as members of WRAPPS
    (Western Reserve Association for the Preservation and Perpetuation
    of Storytelling) take the stage this month. Refreshments and story
    swap follow the performance. CanalWay Center is located on
    Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio &
    Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in
    CuyahogaHeights. For more information, call 216-206-1000.



    Evening in the Park

    Tuesday, May 11 �

    Enjoy a stroll in the park on a spring evening to take in the
    sights and sounds of forest and wetland. Discover spring
    wildflowers, amphibians and birds back from migration with
    Naturalist David Dvorak. Rocky River Nature Center is located at
    24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar

    Friday Movie Night

    North Chagrin Nature Center
    � North Chagrin Reservation

    Come witness the mystery and majesty of birds migrating from
    all parts of the world in Jacques Perrin's movie masterpiece Winged
    Migration. Learn to look at birds in a whole new way. North Chagrin
    Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the
    Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center
    Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village. For more information, call

    Family Friday Night: Spring Campfire

    Friday, May 21 �
    7 - 8 p.m.

    Join Naturalist Mindy Murdock for a short hike around the marsh
    in search of frogs, flowers and other signs of the season. End the
    hike with a crackling campfire. North Chagrin Nature Center is
    located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance
    of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in

    Cinema Saturday Night: Humpback Whale

    Saturday, May 22 � 7:30 - 9 p.m.

    Recent observations and research reveal how humpback whales hunt
    fish so successfully, working together as a team and using their
    powerful voices. In this movie, follow these gentle giants as they
    roam the earth's oceans to feed and mate. Doors open at 7 p.m.Rocky

    The Beautiful Lagoon

    Enjoy a 3-mile hike to the lagoon area to discover the wildlife
    with Naturalist David Dvorak. Many birds will be starting to nest
    and the lagoon serves as a magnet for other wildlife such as

    Flower Full Moon

    The month of May often starts with wet weather and ends dry.
    The beautiful flowers of May might not be in full view this
    evening, but with luck, the full moon will. North Chagrin Nature
    Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane
    entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91

    Family Friday night:  Skulls - A Head Above the Rest

    Families can view a wide variety of animal skulls. Learn how to
    tell what an animal eats just by looking at its skull and teeth. A
    short hike outside will follow. North Chagrin Nature Center is

    Campfire

    Meet at Rocky River Nature Center's Trailside Amphitheater for a
    campfire with stories and songs. Bring a family favorite song or
    story to share. When the fire dies down, gather around to roast
    marshmallows. Sticks and marshmallows provided. Rocky River Nature

    Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.  For
