Reservation - harbors unique wildlife, draped hillsides,

During the month of May, enjoy two free programs to learn more
about the wetlands and watersheds of this unique reservation:

Investigate a Watershed: West Creek Reservation

    Saturday, May 15
    2 - 4 p.m.

    West Creek Reservation

What's a watershed? What animals live in the wetlands and creek
waters of West Creek Reservation? Adults and families are invited
to join Naturalist Bethany Majeski for a fun, hands-on, 1.5-mile
exploration of this unique reservation. Perform simple
water-quality tests and use nets to look for signs of life. Wear
wettable shoes. For more information on this program, call
    440-734-6660.

    Wetlands to Waterthrushes

    Wednesday, May 26 9  - 10:30 a.m.

    West Creek Reservation

The wetlands, forests and riparian corridor of West Creek
Reservation provide a refuge for dozens of colorful songbirds, from
the brilliant scarlet tanager and rose-breasted grosbeak, to the
tail-bobbing Northern waterthrush. Join Naturalist Jen Brumfield on
a 1.5-mile trek to seek out a stunning variety of birds that have
just completed a long migration north to nest in Parma's "big
backyard." For more information on this program, call
    216-341-9225.

In partnership with the city of Parma and the West Creek
Preservation Committee, Cleveland Metroparks assumed management of
West Creek Reservation in January 2006 via a 99-year lease, to
enrich the community through the provision of outdoor recreation
and education resources in the reservation.  Geologically
unique and biologically diverse, the West Creek tributary not only
provides natural beauty, but also a home to a variety of wildlife,
flowing through the cities of Parma, Seven Hills, BrooklynHeights,
and Independence where it eventually connects to the
    CuyahogaRiver.

West Creek Reservation's main entrance is located off West
Ridgewood Drive, between State and Broadview Roads in Parma.
