Academy of Golf Instruction
The Cleveland Metroparks Academy of Golf has a wide variety of interesting offerings that would help the junior golfer advance his/her skills. There are the “Fun”-damentals classes for the basic skill building. There are Learn N’ Play classes for the more advanced Junior Golfer. There is a high school golf team prep class. Pee-Wee Leagues
These three-hole entry level leagues are designed to introduce new players to the on-course golf experience. Each foursome
must have a parent or adult to walk along to supervise their children’s safety and play.
- 6 to 10 years old
- $25 registration fee
- No weekly greens fee
- Three holes per week for five weeks; June-July
- East side - Shawnee Hills Par-3, Friday mornings
- East side - Washington, Wednesday mornings
- West side - Mastick Woods, Thursday mornings

Cadet Leagues
These are transitional leagues for players ready for more than the three-hole Pee-Wee League but not quite ready for a full course experience.
- 8 to 13 years old
- $25 registration fee
- 9-holes per week for 8 weeks; Mid-June to early August
- East side – Shawnee Hills Par-3, Monday mornings
- West side – Mastick Woods, Tuesday mornings
- South side – Seneca, Wednesday mornings

Junior Leagues
These leagues are designed for intermediate skill players mature enough to handle 9-holes of regulation golf on their own.
- 11 to 17 years old
- $25 registration fee
- 9-holes per week for 8 weeks; June-July

- West side - Little Met, Thursday mornings
- South side – Seneca, Wednesday mornings

Advanced Junior League
This league is designed for the serious junior golfer with skills advanced enough to score below 50 on a regular basis on a regulation golf course. A junior league player from the previous season should have a league handicap of 12 or less (for 9 holes) to participate.
- 12 to 17 years old
- $25 registration fee
- 9-holes per week for 8 weeks.
- League championship is 9-holes; mid-June–late July
- West side - Big Met, Monday mornings

Junior High Team Golf
Offered in the Spring, for junior golfers in grades 6 through 8. Communities, schools, or organizations may form their own team of juniors (4 to 8 players per team) to compete against other teams in the league to prepare for future high school golf team competition.
Academy of Golf Learn ‘n’ Play
Part of Cleveland Metroparks Academy of Golf, these golf leagues include instruction. Fee includes green fees, hand carts, instruction, & range balls.
- Seneca - 6 weeks (Tuesdays, June 8 - July 13) - $180
- Seneca - 6 weeks (Wednesdays, June 9 - July 14) - $180
- Shawnee Hills Par 3 - 6 weeks ( Fridays, June 4 - July 9) - $180
- Washington - 6 weeks (Mondays, June 7 - July 19) - $180
Free Golf!
Yes, there is some free golf for juniors! On Independence Day (July 4th), and Labor Day, after 1 p.m., there is a free round of golf for a junior, age 17 and under, with a paid adult fee.
Junior Day Camps
Offered at both Washington and Seneca golf courses these five day camps for young golfers (ages 8 to 17) will include instruction, etiquette, rules, and playing on the golf course. The fee for the week of camp, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is $225. Extended care is available for children arriving at 8 a.m. and staying until 5 p.m. A fee of $25 covers extended care for the entire week. Juniors should bring a packed lunch. Lunch is available at Seneca for $30 per week.
