Elevate your try-it experience by trying stand up paddleboarding on Lake Erie where wind and wave conditions will dictate exactly what the try-its look like.  If it is calm, guests will have the opportunity to paddle in a group alongside certified instructors.  If there are choppy conditions or small waves, shorter distance try-it sessions may be necessary.  If you are looking to take your flatwater paddling experience to the next level by experiencing Lake Erie, this try-it is perfect for you.  If you are already nervous about trying SUP, consider the Try-It: SUP programs at Hinckley Lake for your first experience.  During the Try-Its, you’ll learn the basics of stand up paddleboarding.  Continue to learn about stand up paddleboarding during our Learn-It: SUP program and skills sessions.

The entire program will be spent outside (with no access to indoor spaces), so all guests should come dressed to paddle. Leave anything not going on the water with you including a towel and extra set of clothes in your vehicle.  Dry bags or Ziplock bags work well for items you choose to bring on the water with you. Dress in non-cotton layers such as synthetic materials, fleece, wool, etc. Reference the 3Ws of layering for more information about how to dress. Classes will begin promptly, so plan to arrive early. Please bring a completed waiver and review the participant equipment list.
