Club members receive a Passport, and throughout the year Cleveland Metroparks
and the Zoo will offer special events, programming and other activities for kids
to earn stamps in their Passports. If a member receives 12 stamps, they can

Healthy Planet, Healthy People Fair & 5K Run/Walk: June 9
The 5K is Cleveland Metroparks first segue into the world of fitness
programming. It is primarily a trail run/walk that incorporates the famous 135
stairs to Fort Hill rising 90 feet above the Rocky River. After finishing the 5K
Run/Walk, visitors can enjoy a Fair with booths on healthy
food, green gardening, rain barrels, composting, backyards for birds,
activities for kids, mind/body connection, outdoor fitness options, etc. Plus,
join Cleveland Metroparks at 10:30 a.m. in attempting to break the Guinness Book
of World Records “Largest Number of People Doing Jumping Jacks.”

Train Day: June 16
Experience the sights and sounds of the railroads. Visitors, young and old,
can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day including model train
exhibits — featuring G-scale, HO-scale, N-scale, S-scale, and Lego trains!
Children can create train crafts and ride the kids’ train (for a nominal fee),
while the whole family can enjoy learning about trains and listening to the
sounds of some toe-tapping, train-related musical entertainment. And, take a
self-led walk along the ‘hobo trail’ or join a staff-led hike to the Trestle
Overlook.

Nature at Night: July 14
As the full moon approaches, the nights become brighter! Celebrate the beauty

Cleveland Metroparks will be groovin’ all day-long. Celebrate a wide array of

for sale, and more! And, make a 'groovy' tie-dye t-shirt for a nominal fee at

The citizens of Bug City welcome visitors to the cool world of insects. Learn
what insects do, why we need them, and even what they taste like! Enjoy edible
insect recipes and demonstrations, and take a look at the exhibits of bugs, bees
and butterflies from Ohio to Africa. Stop by the Mealworm 500 to watch the
mealworms race to the finish line. Visitors can pick up a Passport to find out
which district has live entertainment, crafts, games, a kids’ train ride
(nominal fee), bug hunts, and much, much, more.
