Cleveland Metroparks provides over 100 miles of shared-use, paved,
all purpose trails for cycling, walking, running and in-line
skating. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the all
purpose trails. Bicycles are permitted on roadways. The Traffic Code is applicable whenever a bicycle is operated.
Mountain Bikes: Mountain bikes are permitted on roadways, all purpose trails, and other paths designated for use of bicycles. Mountain bikes or any bike are not permitted in hiking or bridle trails. The Traffic Code is applicable whenever a bicycle is operated.
Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation has a short loop of about 1/2 mile for beginners with minimal mountain biking skills and a longer loop with some steep terrain for the more experienced intermediate rider. Royalview trail, located in Mill Stream Run Reservation, is a mountain bike trail consisting of two loops totaling 9 miles of beginner to intermediate level single track trails.
Personal Safety: Cleveland Metroparks is a great place to enjoy nature and recreation. However, when in the Park District, remember to follow the personal safety practices you would anywhere else. If faced with an emergency, notify the ranger department immediately by calling 440-333-4911. Contact the nearest Park District employee who will alert the ranger department, or call 911.
